Hi Friends,
We begin the month still feeling the effects of the March 31st Blue Moon in Libra which will be influencing us to find balance when it comes to our mind, bodies, and souls. This need for balance is going to be important for the month of April as there is going to be a push-pull type energy that may make us feel scattered and even confused. On one hand we are going to have strong fiery Aries energy that is going to be pushing us along at great speeds. We are going to feel optimistic and fired up to do things sooner rather than later. But on the other hand, we also have this slower, more methodical energy that is urging us to take things slow and be patient.
Part of reason for the slower energy is that is mental Mercury continues its retrograde motion until mid-month. Any time the messenger planet is in its reversal phase we tend to revisit old ideas, conversations, plans and contacts that we’ve made over the years. Later on in the month, Saturn and Pluto will go retrograde as well. Since this is such a radical year of change, it is normal to go through these phases and wonder what could have been, but we’ll get plenty of opportunity to start a new as an Aries New Moon will ignite some inspiration and motivation for action.
On April 15th its back to the races with a million new thoughts of what to do next as Mercury goes direct in Aries. Hopefully, we learned a little during the retrograde cycle about not dashing off to the next new idea quite so impulsively. Later on the same day, the New Moon in Aries urges us to make some positive changes in our daily routine. This lunation will be joined by revolutionary Uranus and squaring impulsive Mars which will set the tone for breaking free from personal restrictions.
However, this lunation may bring some challenges, and perhaps we are going to have to come face to face with some truths that have been buried away. This New Moon may feel painful, and there may be some rebuilding or the breaking down of old beliefs and foundations that no longer serve us, staying grounded and being patient is really going to help.
We can begin to feel the weight of our responsibilities on April 17th when Saturn begins its retrograde cycle in Capricorn. We may feel a little disconnected from our purpose while Saturn is in reversal mode which can lead to a temporary drop in motivation. Pending decisions can also weigh on our minds. This is all due to a change in our perspective. However, as we acclimate to the shift, the retrograde cycle becomes an opportunity period for review and reassessment. Attempts to reconnect with the purpose of our structures, limits, and duties can aid this process.
April 17th also brings a huge shift with Chiron moving out of Pisces into Aries, where it will stay until 2027. Chiron represents our wounds and what lessons we have come into this life to learn and grow from. With Chiron, the lessons are usually of a deeper, spiritual nature and cause shifts on a subconscious and energetic level. With Chiron moving out of the last sign of Pisces and into the first sign of Aries, we are all going to be working with that bridge between the old and the new. We are all going to be working on bringing subconscious thoughts, wisdom and feelings into our conscious mind.
After a month of fiery Aries, we are ready to slow down and enjoy the soothing sensations as the Sun enters Taurus on April 19th. The seeds that were planted during Aries are starting to sprout. People are beginning to come out of their houses to enjoy the sunshine and play in their gardens. Get your hands dirty, back to basics, smelling the flowers; those are all activities that will commence. Taurus is a fixed earth sign that condenses and solidifies the fiery impulses generated during Aries. The energy of Taurus is receptive and feminine, steady, loyal, and determined. It waits for things rather than running after them. Here we have the young maiden, patiently waiting on the porch for her man. When he arrives, she showers him with affection and indulgences. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the Goddess of Love. We’re not talking about spiritual love here, either. Venus likes her pleasures. Enjoy them while the Sun is Taurus.
On April 22nd powerful Pluto turns retrograde once again and the pressure eases off. What pressure you ask? With Pluto in Capricorn, the issue is who’s in control. Major power struggles run rampant. So some relief from that would be very welcome indeed. During the retrograde periods we can expect life to be a little more like normal. There aren’t so many people in your face all the time and the male posturing that’s happening on the world scale recedes into talk of how to make peace work so we can get on with the job of living. We can use these times to work on furthering our plans for where we want to end up when Pluto leaves Capricorn.
We become more fickle in our relationships on April 24th as Venus enters the dualistic sign of Gemini. When Venus transits Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the attitude now. We are sociable, communicative, and interested. We can be animated and fun but may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level with Venus in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness.
We are pulled into the mysterious depths of our minds on April 29th as the Scorpio Full Moon heightens our intuition and awareness. This is also a time when we’ll look within to truly understand our deep desires and feelings. This period of introspection could lead to greater self-awareness as well as an awareness of those around you. The ability to get in touch with the intricacy of our own emotions gives us the insight needed to understand others’ motivations. Don’t be surprised if you have a few light bulb moments during this transit.
