Hi Friends,
Hold on, we’re in for a wild cosmic ride this month as we find ourselves in the middle of eclipse season and mighty Mars begins its retrograde cycle. As November begins we are still feeling the effects of the October 25th New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, and 2 weeks after that one we have a powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus and it’s a doozy.
Eclipses serve as catalysts for us to aspire to our destiny’s deeper calling. They are doorways that open and close providing guidance and realizations about where we are in life. These powerful lunations offer us an opportunity to self-reflect and to experience inner alignments while transmuting the past into new sources of energy. Eclipses always arrive in pairs—and land in exact opposite signs in the zodiac, in this case, Scorpio and Taurus. Power struggles can be explosive under these eclipses. Nefarious details may come to light, exposing hidden agendas, crimes, scandalous and underground activities. Picking up the pieces after this galactic tsunami could take a while because of the fixed nature of both Taurus and Scorpio. These eclipses will force us to deal with the facts and devise solutions that may require rebuilding from ground zero. This month’s Lunar Eclipse will happen on November 08, at 6:02 AM EST which will also be a Full Blood Moon in Taurus. Expect surprises!
As much as we’ll be craving peace and calm with the Taurus influence during this lunar cycle, be on high alert to expect the unexpected with the planet of revolution, Uranus, conjunct this Full Moon. If you’ve been avoiding making changes you could be forced to make a decision. If you’re someone who welcomes change, be open to stepping forward in a new direction. Eclipses are agents of change. They encourage us to alter how we see the world.
This Lunar Eclipse in Taurus has to do with values, beliefs, possessions and of course finances. Normally, A Taurus Full Moon is a great reminder that by paying attention to our senses — what we can touch, taste, smell, and feel — we can ground ourselves and make life simple again. However, because of the difficult alignments to this Full Moon it may be impossible to feel grounded.
Lunar eclipses always happen during full moons, so why is this one called a Blood Moon? With the Earth sandwiched between the Sun and Moon, the Sun casts a shadow that slowly bleeds across the surface of the moon. (In fact, due to its reddish tint, a Total Lunar Eclipse has earned the nickname of “Blood Moon.”) Lunar eclipses are prime time for looking at the subconscious and dealing with emotions we’ve ignored. Because Lunar Eclipses represent endings or completions, situations could pivot abruptly or come to a sudden and unceremonious halt.
Full moons are about letting go, releasing and revisiting your goals. This is a favorable time to check-in and ask yourself “What challenges have I been ignoring?” And “What is one thing I can do right now in order to grow?” If anything in your life is “eclipsed away,” Stop chasing it and give it some space. You’ll either manifest a better option or circle back to this later—after you’ve processed the lesson and evolved!
And speak of “Self” we do need to remember that Mars (self) is also retrograde (appearing to move backward) for this eclipse, so frustrations can easily lead to fights and confrontations, and we need to manage frustrated energy in a healthy way. This lunar eclipse has some extra wild energy as it’s opposite both Mercury and Venus in Scorpio, square (hard aspect) Saturn in Aquarius, and conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Yikes! This is very hard energy!
Communication may be a problem thanks to Mercury, there can be difficulties with others thanks to Venus, we can feel overwhelmed and stifled thanks to Saturn, and it may seem like chaos is winning thanks to Uranus. Again, we need to be responsible, manage frustrations properly, and try doing things the right way and for the right reasons. The Taurus Solar Eclipse about six months ago was also conjunct Uranus, so these eclipses have been big triggers for change on a larger scale as well as individually. Take control of the changes you want to make and go about them in a healthy productive way.
Fortunately the energy begins to shift on November 16th when Venus moves into optimistic Sagittarius. Venus is the planet that describes what makes us feel happy and content. When she moves into Sagittarius, you can expect to feel a more playful, exuberant energy. Sagittarius is full of zest and excitement, so Venus here is in love with fun and games. A wide variety of playthings is an absolute necessity.
Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, meaning that flexibility is combining with a brilliant display of joy. Like a spreading wildfire, it’s here, it’s there, and it’s everywhere. And Venus here thrives on chasing the flames as they jump from tree to tree. Don’t expect to make any permanent commitments while Venus is in Sagittarius. Having the freedom to roam is of paramount importance as our lady of love rides away on the back of our seductive centaur.
Our thinking becomes elevated as well on November 17th when Mercury enters Sagittarius. NOW we’ll get some decisions! There’s no beating around the bush when Mercury moves through fiery Sagittarius. When Mercury is visiting Sagittarius our thinking shifts to a higher calling with a desire to learn about a wide range of topics. We seek ideals, our thinking is more optimistic, and our faith increases. We are more equipped to believe and to persuade. What is fair and unfair concerns us most now. However, we are not always very precise under this influence.
We’re more inclined to ask questions and seek answers during this forward-looking cycle. We might often overlook details that are not as interesting to us now, as we prefer to envision the big picture. On the downside, we can be inconsistent and lack attention to details. While frank and open, we can also be tactless during this period. We’re generous with our communications and input, and we’re humorous and friendly at this time.
The radiant Sun also moves into Sagittarius on November 22nd. With the Sun in Sagittarius, our focus shifts from the need for an intimate connection with a person and with ourselves, to the desire to reach out to the world and connect with something larger than ourselves. While the Sun moves through this fiery, mutable sign, we can take steps to increase our understanding and awareness of the world around us. We are more able to muster up the courage to expand our horizons and branch out into new ways of thinking. We can gain more confidence and optimism by focusing on the “big picture” as we move away from our focus on the details of mundane existence. Although we may be prone to overdoing our expectations, we have the opportunity to nurture our faith, hope, and vision under this influence.
To further enhance the optimism, this month’s New Moon will also highlight the positive sign of Sagittarius on November 23rd. This Sagittarius New Moon asks us to plant the seeds of optimism. This is when we allow ourselves to leave the painful parts of our pasts behind so we can visualize a bigger and brighter future. The Sagittarius New Moon offers us hope, and all the wonderful things that hope brings. Instead of seeing a situation as it is, we’ll be able to imagine what our situation could be.
Four minutes after the New Moon, Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius) ends its retrograde period. Now that the energy of this huge planet is moving direct once again, we find ourselves on the move with a little more pep–in-our-step. Jupiter begins moving forward once again in Pisces helping to inspire and imagine a new vision for the future.
